This year approximately 130 young men will be kept out of the criminal and juvenile justice system, thanks to the Reichert House. Young men are redirected through mentoring, guidance, education and community resources not typically available to them. Our program graduates go on to higher education such as:
* Trade Schools
* Workforce
* Vocational Schools
* Community College
* Four-Year Colleges
* Military
* Police Academy
We currently estimate the total need in the City of Gainesville and Alachua County to be about 1,200 young men a year. In addition, Alachua County schools have about 400 students living in a condition of homelessness-- an issue for which we are working to find solutions.
In our 19 years, over 600 of the men who have entered our program have graduated from high school. We currently meet about 10% of our community's needs. We hope to continue our current annual growth of 100% per year for the next 3 to 5 years, so we can meet our community's need and improve the resources we offer our students. |
